On 5 September 2022, Institute of Big Data Governance organized an in-person event with over 100 attendees to discuss the impact of China’s cross-border data transfer regulations and its recent security assessment regime. There is an urgent need for companies with presence in Hong Kong and China to prepare for the now-enacted rules and regulations. We are also delighted to invite Mr. Victor Lam, JP (HKSAR Government Chief Information Officer) to give us a welcome speech and Prof. Stephen Wong (Barrister-in Law and former HKSAR Privacy Commissioner) to share with us his insights on the new regime.
